Fritz Coffee

Fritz Seongsan, where Seongsan Ilchulbong spreads out in front of you, is a space where a raw fish restaurant called Baeknok Hall was once located. As can be seen from the word Baeknok Hall, not Baeknok raw fish restaurant, it is Jeju's own long-standing culture that restaurants also serve as a community for local residents. The restaurant, which used to be a gathering place for local residents, and Fritz's identity as a "community of engineers who make Korean coffee and bread" combine in one place to create a unique space history.

성산 일출봉이 눈 앞에 펼쳐진 프릳츠의 성산점은 한때  ‘백록회관’이라는 횟집이 자리했던 공간이다. 백록 횟집이 아닌 백록회관이라는 단어에서 볼 수 있듯, 식당이 지역주민의 커뮤니티 역할을 겸하는 것은 제주만의 오랜 문화이다. 지역 주민들의 모임장소였던 식당과  ‘한국적인 커피와 빵을 만드는 기술자의 공동체’라는 프릳츠의 정체성이 한자리에서 어우러져 고유한 공간의 역사를 만들어간다.

백록회관의 상징적인 청기와와 벽돌은 여전히 프릳츠 성산을 대표한다. 백록회관의  바닥에는 프릳츠의 로고가 들어간 황동 패가 자연스럽게 녹아들었다. ‘오랫동안 지역 주민들의 커뮤니티로 사용되던 식당’이라는 공간의 역사와 ‘한국적인 커피와 빵을 만드는 기술자의 공동체’라는 프릳츠의 정체성은 한자리에서 어우러져 고유한 깊이를 만들어 갈 것이다. 

The iconic blue tiles and bricks of the Baeknok Hall still represent Fritz Seongsan. The brass casting with Fritz's logo is naturally embedded on the floor of the Baeknok Hall as if it had always been there. The history of the space "a restaurant that has long been used as a community of local residents' ' and Fritz's identity as "a community of engineers who make Korean coffee and bread" will combine in one place to create a unique depth of space.

한국 근현대의 가구의 특징과 현재가 어우러져, 오래된 백록회관과 현대의 프릳츠를 한공간에 담겼다. 어릴적 집에서 쉽게 볼수있는 테이블 다리, 마을 회관에서 단체로 쓸법한 의자, 접견실의 진녹색 가죽소파까지. 익숙하지만 새롭게 80년대의 한국과 현재가 교차하는 공간을 표현하고있다. 

With the combination of the characteristics of Korean furniture in the 80s and the beauty of the present, the old Baeknok Hall and the modern fritz are contained in one space. From table legs that can be easily seen at home as a child, chairs that can be used as a group in the town hall, and dark green leather sofa as seen in the old reception room. It is familiar, but it newly expresses the space where the 80s and the present Korea intersect.

성산 일출봉이 눈 앞에 펼쳐진 프릳츠의 성산점은 한때 ‘백록회관’이라는 횟집이 자리했던 공간이다. 당시의 수족관에는 이제 동네에 자생하는 들꽃들이 모여 주변의 자연과 조화를 이룬다.

Fritz Seongsan, where Seongsan Ilchulbong is spread out in front of your eyes, is a space where a raw fish restaurant called Baeknok Hall was once located. Wild flowers that grow naturally in the neighborhood gather in the space that was once used as an aquarium to harmonize with the surrounding nature.

프릳츠의 옥상은 성산 일출봉, 바다와 대비되는 무채색의 차가운 직선이 교차한다. 바다라는 지리적 특성이 직관적으로 강조되지 않았지만, 바다앞의 거센 바람으로 인한 변수를 이용해 필연적인 시각적 재미를 더했다. 큰 구멍의 아스팔트와 속이 빈 알루미늄으로 제작한 벤치는 강한 해풍을 통과시켜 구조가 무너지지 않으며, 주인공이 되기 보다 눈앞의 풍경에 힘을 실어준다.

On the rooftop of Fritz, achromatic straight line in contrast to the sea and Seongsan Ilchulbong intersects in front of you. Although the geographical characteristics of the sea were not intuitively emphasized, variables caused by strong winds in front of the sea were used to add inevitable visual fun. The bench made of large holes of asphalt and hollow aluminum passes through strong sea winds, so the structure does not collapse, and it gives strength to the scenery in front of it rather than being the main character.
