Our design focused on the structure and form of a ‘naruteo’ , a space where people briefly gather and disperse. This concept was reinterpreted and applied to both the architecture and furnishings. 마곡은 과거 ‘고고마진(古古麻津) 나루터’가 있던 어촌 지역입니다.
나루터는 강이나 바다 같은 수역과 육지를 연결하며 배가 정박하고 사람과 물자가 오가던 역할을 위한 장소입니다. 또한 사람들이 모여 교류하고, 잠시 머물다 흩어지는 흐름을 보여주는 문화적 공간으로서 기능합니다.
Magok was once a fishing village where the Gogomajin Naruteo (Ferry Dock) stood.
A Naruteo served as a place that connected waterways, such as rivers or the sea, with the land, where boats could dock and people and goods could move across. It also functioned as a cultural space where people gathered, interacted, and briefly lingered before dispersing.
“나루터에서 비롯된 머묾과 흐름의 공간”
블루보틀 마곡은 다양한 동선이 교차하는 원그로브의 중심부에 위치합니다.
우리는 잠시 머물렀다 흩어지는 ‘나루터’의 구조와 형태에 주목했으며, 그 특징을 공간과 집기에 재해석하여 구성하고자 하였습니다. 기능에 따라 완성된 하나의 언어는, 각 요소들이 조화롭게 어우러지며 공간의 전반적인 흐름을 유기적으로 형성하도록 합니다.
더불어, 주변 환경을 고려한 색감과 재료를 활용하여 내부와 외부 공간의 연속성을 만들어내어 자연스럽게 연결되도록 의도하였습니다.

Blue Bottle Magok is located at the heart of One Grove, where various paths intersect.

The unified language, completed based on function, organically shapes the overall flow of the space as its elements harmonize seamlessly.
Furthermore, by utilizing colors and materials that consider the surrounding environment, we aimed to establish spatial continuity, naturally connecting the interior and exterior.
“나루터의 구조에서 영감받은 의자 디자인”
나루터의 수직적인 구조에서 영감받아, 사람의 하중을 버틸 수 있는 견고한 구조를 만들었습니다. 뼈대 위에 나루터의 데크처럼 판을 얹어 한 사람이 잠깐 쉬어갈 수 있는 최소한의 구조물을 디자인했습니다.
“A chair design inspired by the structure of the ferry”
Inspired by the vertical structure of naruteo, we created a sturdy structure that can withstand a person’s load. By placing a deck-like plate of naruteo on top of the frame, we designed a minimal structure for a person to take a breather.
